Decided to start anew... now with occassional special guest blogger sumomo.kotoko. I'm Klein, Hina Ichigo, Klein Beere or St Jimmy (well about 1/2 of the time) depending where you know me from.

Rin arrived on Monday along with Estel, she was actually Estel's senior by a few hours as UPS delivered her and I am fairly close to the UPS distribution centers so they tend to deliver fairly early in the morning. Rin has the distinction of being my cheapest dollfie (so far anyway) as I actually got her from Volksusa's site, I managed to acquire a preorder slot for her via lottery so she was only actually $528 plus shipping . She was also the only dollfie that upon opening reaked of new plastic smell >_<   
 
I love Rin she has almost a cat-like quality  about her, the shape of her eyes and the shape of her lips only adds to that impression. I love her eyes and her wig is absolutely dead-on to her character design. 

Estel was my mystery dollfie. I had always been fascinated with her and Feena but after really studying photos of them, I discovered that while they shared the same headmold I much preferred Estel's face up.  Something just seemed to be missing with Feena. I had a hell of time finding owner photos of Estel so that further drove my ambition to get her . Oddly when I was picking out my first dollfie I was looking through a compiled character list of all the Dollfie Dreams and I remember looking at Estel thinking  somehow, someway I was going to end up getting her. 

Her eyes seem to be noticeably more wide/open than any of my other girls. She is also on a normal dollfie dream body which when compared to the other girls makes her seem a bit younger or childlike. I love her eyes and her pale lavender hair. 

Her stock is really beautifully made, the dress is especially well done the pleating is amazing and her bracelets are real metal. My only regret is that her stock kind of makes her stick out a bit too much compared to the other dollfies. 

All and all I am very pleased with her although getting her and Rin made me realize I wanted even more dollfies T_T 

I am once again flumoxed by the arrival of two dollfie dreams on the same day despite the fact that they shipped on different days, by different sellers and in this case different countries. Rin came from Volks USA via UPS a little earlier than I antipated her, I had won the preorder lottery for her through Volks' site. My mystery dollfie, Estel came from one of my agents in Japan.

I know some of you are wondering why I chose Estel out of all of the released dollfies the truth is I really loved her face up and thought she might make a good match for Ryomou (there are no male DDs and I am sure as hell not buying a male bjd as most of them come anatomically correct and resin dick= do not want). She has a really lady-like aura around her and  I was unable to find many owner photos of her so that kind of motivated me even more. Oddly when I first started looking at Dollfies I always knew I would somehow end up getting her. 

I plan to start deboxing both girls once I get back from the post office (I am shipping my half of a blythe trade off today). I was supposed to ship on Friday but all the post offices closed at noon >_< 

My second Charlotte dal arrived today as well, I am currently trying to sell her stock on dolly market as I have no use for it (if anyone is that interested in it reading this shoot me an email at atashi.saikano@gmail.com ).  Charlotte is more than likely going to become my Mad Hatter dal as the Drta I was going to use is getting customized into a dal Froggy. That reminds me I should email the girl who I commissioned for the Mad Hatter outfit and see what is going on with that.

I didn't actually preorder all that much this week ^^; Part of it is I am waiting for other sites to start taking preorders for a couple of additional figures I want as TL wants way too much over the yen price for them (especially on a Kotobukiya figure wtf? ).

Ps. Somewhat hilarious UPS sent me an automated call informing me that I had to be here tomorrow to sign for Rin.  

Pullip- Angelique and Charlotte are still kicking around in the post I hate SAL sometimes.  I am also awaiting two other dolls; a custom dal named Jupin who is a dal customized to look the pullip Jupi and I am trading one of my Ridas for a Latte. I am in the process of commissioning another custom dal, with a different customizer this time, as much as I love Requiem's work I wanted to try a different customizer as a couple of my friends have customs by her and really speak very highly of her work . I am having a custom dal made up of the little pullip Froggy, Little Froggy is my absolute favorite mini and I have already seen a few customs pullips of her then I thought she might be even cuter as a dal. 

Blythe- I have fallen head over heels for next month's release Punkaholic People.  I absolutely must have her. I currently in the process of trading my Love Mission to make a space for her (I don't want to have too many with dark hair or anyone hair color for that matter plus I am trying to keep a close eye on their number). Speaking of the trade I am acquiring a Primadolly Saffy so I am rather pleased as she is one of my favorite blythes that I don't own.  



Dollfie Dream- I just checked tracking it looks as though the mysterious Dollfie Dream just arrived in the States a little earlier this evening which would normally mean that she would be delivered tomorrow. Unfortunately there is no mail delivery tomorrow because of the holiday so it looks as though both the mystery DD and Rin will both be arriving together on Monday. Oh the irony.. Ryomou and Kanu showed up on the same day despite the fact they were purchased a few days apart from very different sellers. I wonder if this is a sign that I should buy another when Yoko is due.  

I actually got this one a few weeks ago but just got around to deboxing it a couple of days ago. I think this might be my favorite figure of Suzumiya herself although honestly I have always been more of a Mikuru fan myself. This figure has a very vibrant feel to it. The detailing is lovely, the guitar and the stockings are especially well done. I love the fact that she is actually holding a guitar pick. 
 
I love Suzumiya's joyful expression in this figure. This figure to me outshines the other iconic Max factory figure  of Suzumiya. The iconic figure of Suzumiya in the school uniform is one everyone that collects anime figures seems to own, oddly I myself no longer own that figure but I do have the Wonder Fest limited version with short sleeves. To me that figure doesn't even hold a candle to this one. 
 

I received my fourth bjd in the mail today. She is a tiny (roughly 10 cm) bjd- she is roughly the same size as little pullips, pukis and pinky streets. She was made by Felixdoll, she is part of their brownie line and she is an Allie. I have decided to name her Bea- I don't know why I have decided to name her Bea but I have named her Bea ^^; . She is quite cute and I love her stock but I don't like her as much as my other two tinies ^^;  

I knew she was going to be approximately the same size as a puki but I didn't just how similiar they would actually be...

They are similiar but not identical.. the head shape is the most obvious difference between the two of them. The knees and torso have different joints than the puki as well but they are still remarkably similiar. 

 
I had been wanting this Saber figure for a while, something about the combination of a kendo sword and a swimsuit really attracted me to this figure. I had lost the previous battle of Alter vs. Clayz Saber but I  was in a Fate mood and decided to indulge myself and go ahead and get the Clayz version as well. As a figure I like it, I am not so sure of this figure as a Saber figure though as much as I like the face something just doesn't seem Saber-like to me. I do find the bathing suit itself to be very Saber-like though it fits her personality perfectly.. it has a quiet elegance. 

October's pullip was lineup was announced some time during the night. It looks like Groove has decided to go forward with their collaboration with Disney. 

On the whole these seen to have lost some of the sparkle that was there in the prototypes. I am very ambivalant about these as a set on the one hand I want to buy them all, on the other hand I am not entirely happy with them. 

Taeyang- Captain Hook
The removable mustache cracks me up, not sure if he is cool enough to hang with pirate crew or not yet though hmm.  

 
Pullip- Peter Pan
Traditionally in the theater productions Peter Pan is portrayed by a female, pullip has continued this tradition. 


Dal- Tinkerbell
I love Tinkerbell but she seemed to be hit the hardest  hit in the changes from prototype to announced release. I miss her trademark red lips.

Byul- Tigerlily
I really, really wanted to like this release T_T I love Tigerlily but the byul is somewhat disappointing I would buy her and steal her stock for a dal or a pullip but I am unsure if I will actually buy her or not at this point. 

Lots of fun stuff is already lining up for July even though I am only an hour into it >_<

I have  somewhat surprisingly already received shipping notification from Volks for my Rin Dollfie Dream from the VolksUSA store, I could have sworn she was not coming until late July. So Rin and my other incoming Dollfie Dream are racing to my mailbox as we speak both should be here by early next week expect pictures and lots of them :P 

I was also somewhat surprized to see shipping notification for my fourth bjd, an Allie from Felixdoll's Brownie line. It's been so long since I paid for her I almost forgot about the poor dear. 


My goal, in light of everything is take July a little slower. I bought a lot of stuff last month including another DD which I didn't absolutely need so I am taking time off from the hunt  as a means of penance for June's disgressions.... Don't get me wrong there will still be a bunch of stuff arriving in July as I still have a whole ton of preorders which I am anticipating an invoice for any time now. 

Looking back over this past month I had thought that I hadn't actually got much in the mail... then I really started thinking about and well I had actually accumulated quite a bit of things over the past month.

So all in all about 20 new anime figures, 7 new dolls and a Joker statue not bad. 

I haven't been buying as many figures outside of preorders. Partially because after all these years I am running out of stuff that I don't own that I still want. I think that is partially what is drawing me more and more to the dollfies if for no other reason then to have the thrill of the hunt again ^^;   

Oddly I haven't yet purchased this past month's pullips :O I really don't care for Neo Angelique all that much plus I was saving up for the new DD so I figured they could wait a little while. I have Angelique coming from HLJ now, I haven't ordered the dal yet and I am not even going to bother with the taeyang. A bit of apathy as I near the 200 mark I guess ^^; On a somewhat related note I feel I am okay with blythes for a while at the moment unless I find a jaw dropping deal on My Little Candy.. I eventually want more but right now I am happy with who I have and I have full shelf. 

I had originally planned on getting this figure for no other reason than to go with what I hoped would eventually be announced a 1/4 Fate figure ( needless to say I preordered Fate as soon as she went up last week). I don't actively collect figures from Magical Lyrical Girl Nanoha as I  have only seen a few episodes of the show. I rather like Fate's character design though so I  do own the original 1/8th Alter figure of her and I have the 1/7th by Alter preordered.

Somewhat ironically  this 1/4 scale is my first figure of Nanoha herself. It turned out to be an excellant selection as I was pleasantly surprised by just how beautiful this figure is in person. I love her expression. The sculpt on her is really lovely, her body looks especially nice. 
 
Even from behind she is pretty cute. She has a rather cute bum. 

This is one of the few scenerios where I approve of plumber's crack ^_- 

I got two packages in the mail today one from HLJ  (the lovely 1/4 scale Nanoha) and one from my  Yahoo Japan agent (the Saber figure and Hobby Japan Pixel Maritan nendoroid). 
 

I opened both of the larger figures today lest they become permanent residents in my to open pile of figures... Yeah I have a lot of backlog building up again ^^; Staying home tomorrow so hopefully I will actually get around to opening up some of my other figures...

About a year  ago I was reading the book "Wicked" and I seen this custom Wicked Witch of the West pullip on ebay for quite cheap. I had remembered that Requiemart had previously done an Elphaba custom but  because of the pictures I was not sure if was the one she did or not.. I ended up bidding on and winning her and it turns out she was in fact a Requiemart custom. Full body repaints on pullips are kind of rare as they normally do not hold up to normal wear and tear well, Elphaba was in surprisingly immaculate condition especially considering her age save a small chip on her nose. Requiemart  offers free repairs on all her customs no matter how many times they change hands so I sent her out for repair recently. She came back looking better than ever. I decided to celebrate her return for taking her out for a photoshoot today.

It's that most special and sacred time of the week preorder day where examine this week's preorders.. I think this everything since last Sunday ....

Comment- Err I know this one will come across as a bit unexpected but I am a huge fan of Junko Mizuno's artwork and this pony features her artwork plus I have a friend who collects MLP who has been trying to get me back into it (after an 18 year hiatus O_o)

In anticipation of my new DD (who should be here late next week/early the week after) I decided to take both of my current girls out for a shoot today.  


I put Ryomou back in her maid uniform as it occured to me that she hasn't been in it in quite some time. I  have a very strong preference for Ryomou maybe I just have a soft spot for a doll that comes with handcuffs and an eye patch, maybe it is because her hair is so low maintenance than Kanu's or maybe it is because she actually had a few changes of clothes... She just seems  lot more photogenic to me . 

I decided to put Kanu in Ryomou's school uniform mostly because well I have never changed her clothes ^^; It actually looks rather nice on her. I actually really like Kanu as well but I always seem to blank on poses when I photograph her. 

I've been thinking a lot about DDs the last few days.... I really do love them but I have started wondering how many of them I am actually going to end up with as we have previously seen with pullips I can not not set a limit for myself otherwise I will have a massive collection very quickly plus the dollfies take up a lot of space. I think I am setting a limit of 7-8 this year, I am getting Illya come hell or high water in October so that leaves me with the possibility for one or two more this year which I think is more than reasonable. 

 
Kanu: What are you doing? 
Ryomou: I am sick of our dysfunctional relationship, first you hate me and want to fight and then you love me I just can't deal with it anymore so I decided to order myself a kinder, gentler companion with which to share my shelf with. 
Kanu: Oh so you mean you are getting a weakling, ::scoffs:: I don't even recognize her couldn't you get someone more famous?
Ryomou: Look I am the one ordering and this one appeals to me most at the moment and she is for me anyway so just deal with it :P 

In other words another dollfie dream is on the way....... 

Comic-con is getting an exclusive pullip O_O. Her name is Lala and she is apparently the first of three new exclusives, all three are limited to 300 each and each will be limited to a different country according to Jun Planning's USA Rep all three will be the same basic doll only the lips, wig and eye chips will change from model to model.

I personally find her lovely she reminds me of Fantastic Alice and Panda a bit, I really want her.. I really want multiples of her she is just so gorgeous.

I am actually quite busy today so this will be short and sweet.

It's Mileina Vashti of Gundam 00, I think this is my first second season figure from Gundam 00 I do have a number of season 1 girls though (Grace Feldt, Lee Sumuragi, Sierra Christina and a couple figures of Wang Lui Mei). All the ones I have are by Banpresto and I have to say that so far this is my least favorite one. She is cute don't get me wrong but there are a few paint flaws on her and I am not a fan of the way her eyes are done.
